EURCAW-Aqua at the 19th Hellenic Ichthyologists Conference
EURCAW-Aqua participated in the 19th Panhellenic Ichthyologists Conference, held at the University of Ioannina from 30 October to 2 November 2025.
During the conference, Prof. Michalis Pavlidis, Director of EURCAW-Aqua, presented the Centre’s mission and activities, outlining its role as the European Union Reference Centre for the Welfare of Aquatic Animals.
His presentation highlighted the Centre’s ongoing efforts to support science-based welfare practices in aquaculture and to promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise among scientists, authorities, and stakeholders across Europe.
The conference, themed “Aquatic ecosystems: Modern management approaches”, brought together experts and researchers from academia, administration, and the aquaculture sector to discuss current scientific and management developments related to aquatic environments and fish welfare.
