Barcelona, 25 November 2025
On 25 November 2025, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) hosted an EURCAW-Aqua workshop dedicated to the welfare assessment of gilthead seabream during the grow-out phase. The hybrid event brought together National Competent Authorities from several European countries.
The programme covered key aspects of seabream production systems, focusing on welfare challenges and practical assessment approaches. Presentations addressed main welfare indicators used in grow-out, methodologies for inspection and evaluation, as well as interactive knowledge-testing sessions designed to support applied learning.
